On some of the higher ones (King+, I'm not a great player), I've lost large swaths of territory and even my capitol to aggressive civs. If you play a game on a higher difficulty setting, you may find the AI builds larger armies and poses more of a threat. Subjectivity is the whole point of game reviews and reviews in general. Good game reviewing is fucking dead if you people like this shit because it's an "objective" list of games' features.

This video is mostly a simple rundown of all the game's features, almost like an advertisement. Someone like Tom Chick is about a million times better a reviewer than this guy. Impartiality is nowhere to be found at rev3. He also shot a ton of buddy-buddy videos with Firaxis, especially around the launch of XCOM, and Rev3's sessler also got exclusive access to Brave New World and a tour of Firaxis HQ just a few weeks ago. He also says the culture system is confusing and imbalanced, then calls it a "massive improvement." WTF? Is added shineyness automatically a "massive improvement"? If so, that would explain an awful lot of modern game reviews these days. It will send units slowly to their deaths at a fortified position for 100+ turns with no concept of how stupid it is. The combat AI very simply cannot play the game Firaxis designed. Seriously? He doesn't even mention the combat AI, which has been the single biggest failing of Civ 5 since its launch. It is a very fun and addicting game, but the AI seriously has their problems when it comes to diplomacy and especially late game in general. Gandhi was a bit ahead of me in terms of culture and I wanted him done, so I ended up siding with Dido and we were kind of best friends for a while, we razed Gandhi to the ground and the only remaining competing civ was Bismark with Project Apollo completed.įast-forward, only three super-potencies in game with massive, powerful armies ready to destroy each other in a game where diplomacy was non-existant (Dido feared me for a while, even throught I was very friendly to her and never even went to War against her) and most of the time, the now-fallen civs declared puny wars on each other, without a clear intent (take a city, halt a city growth/production). The last two succumbed to War early, and the remaining tried to turtle and rush for either Science or Cultural victory. Other players were Dido, Gandhi, Bismarck, Alexander and Ramses. Last night, I was playing as Kamehameha doing my first Cultural victory on King difficulty. /r/GamePhysics - Clips of game physics shining and glitchingĭesign based on /r/FlatBlue created by /u/creesch./r/gaming4gamers - middle ground between purely-for-fun and more serious subreddits./r/GamingLeaksAndRumours - Leaks and Rumors.Posting unmarked spoilers will result in removal and warning, and posting spoilers with malicious intent will result in a ban.
